I really like this app, but I noticed that the word for zero “Líng” sounded kind of weird. The problem is that it seems to add an extra syllable, causing it to sound more like “lí-ung” instead of “líng” but overall, this is a good app.

It’s great I love this app but it’s not amazing there’s only a few problems.You have to sign up for pro to get lots of more words but other than that it’s amazing!

This app saved me in Beijing. Don't know how to talk to the cashier or waiter? Listen to how to say things a few times right before you walk into the door or up to the register ~ need to talk to the taxi driver but don't know how? Show him what you're trying to say. You're lost? Practice the phrases before walking up to someone and asking for help. Don't worry! It also works without wifi ~ This was a life saver on multiple occasions during my study abroad in China.

Fun to learn how to speak Chinese and very useful

I love the apps from this developer. They've given me a great base in several languages. It's worth getting the payed version if you're traveling around China. It adds more sentences/vocabulary to each category. But the free version is fantastic.

I love this app...well LOVED. I accidentally deleted it and now I try to download it off iCloud but it keeps telling me to update it but every time I press the update button, it doesn't work and keeps saying you have to update the app to purchase it. Please fix it, other than that, it is a great app. Xie xie!

Exactly what I was looking for to help pronounce a Mandarin Chinese

Somewhat worthless for Taiwanese mandarine. Many of the words are different and you will end up speaking like one of the loathed mainland tourists

This app is great,but if it had traditional characters it would be much better.

In my own opinion, I think this app is great, especially for those who are just starting out. It is easy to hear and understand the pronunciation and you can even slow it down if need be. The only suggestion I have for the app is for it to be updated with more content. I am about to go China and I am studying mandarin and this app is really helpful. I just wish that it had more phrases that I could learn.

My sister now speaks fluent in chines that is insane.

This app is awesome. It pronounces the words clearly with the correct tonal adjustments, I am learning quickly due to my dedication and determination to familiarize myself with all the knowledge the app offers. Top notch app compared to the many others listed.

This how to start learning the language the fun way. Just started yesterday and I can already speak and understand basic greetings and numbers.

I went to China for a month, barely knowing the language other than a failed attempt at Rosetta Stone and some flash cards. This app helped me get by in restaurants, ordering train tickets and relating to people. By the end of my trip, my boyfriend would ask,"Have your phone thingy?" because it was so CLUTCH! A must! And make sure to use the favorite section.

Overall a nice and handy app. They seem to have fixed some of the more glaring mistakes, though there are still a few errors here and there.

I just returned from a six week trip to China, where I used this ap on the daily to order food, get medicine from pharmacies, converse with local non-English speaking hosts, bargain with street market vendors, hire private drivers and taxis, and attempt to learn some Mandarin. Before my trip, I was told by "local experts" on Trip Advisor that I wouldn't be able to travel around western and rural China without hiring a native speaker, as translation services are so unreliable for the Mandarin language. But they were so wrong! This ap was all I needed, with the exception of only a handful of Pleco uses over the course of the six weeks. Seriously. This ap is amazing for the off the beaten patch traveler, as I was able to practice phrases en route to destinations, and when my pronunciation was off, locals simply looked at my iPad and read the Chinese characters or pinyin. The best part is no internet connection or data is required, which was a lifesaver, as China internet is slow and spotty and wifi is not as ubiquitous as it is in the US and Western Europe. Other travelers were awe struck to see this ap in action and wrote down the name of it to download upon wifi connection. Cheers to these developers! What smarties!

So far it seems helpful although I have used it little. The wording and pronunciation seem decent and it could be useful if needing quick translations

Great phrasebook! Recently used it on an extended stay in China

I have been studying basic manderin for about 5 months now a this app helps a lot with tons of useful everyday phrases, the only problem I have is the lack of proper voicing of the phrases the guy sounds like a robot not a natural speaker. But overall good app.

This developer is really nice~ I use the Japanese, Korean and Cantonese ones as well. They provide a lot of phrases and information!

Very helpful and easy to learn

I used this app extensively on a 10-day trip to Beijing...happy to have it again for my return trip. Helpful is the least positive adjective I can think of. Love this app. Great job folks!

Thank you! Love this app. I just upgraded to the paid version. I use a few other Mandarin apps, but this one seems to have the easiest interface to use. It doesn't really help with learning to discern tones, but there are other good apps for that. I definitely recommend it for quick and easy access for learning phrases or quick reminders.

This little app is wonderful for those either starting out learning or just wanting to have an easy conversation with someone in Chinese. Well done!

This app is just another form of a phrasebook. Most of the free apps that I've seen are just this. They do not teach basic sentence structure or the basic pronunciations of the different sounds. I was looking at being able to learn Chinese not learn a few basic phrases.

This is one of the best language tools I've come across. These are actual conversations you'll use on a day-to-day basis. It's so good they have a real person voice instead of a robot!

Normally I wouldn't write a review, but I encourage this app. It's free and try it for yourself. ;))
